Why One Step at a time?

For many people, starting and maintaining an exercise program seems to be an overwhelming and daunting task.  Most beginning participants fail to reach their exercise goals and quit within the first month because it is too hard, it hurts too bad and it takes too much time.  We would like to stop this from happening to you.  This is where "One Step at a time" comes into play. We are here to be a support and motivation so that we can all be successful on our trek.

Every week,  we will be posting one step to help prepare us physically for the trek.  We have 10 steps and will be taking one step at a time.  By following these 10 steps we can all be ready to walk 10,000 steps -which is approximatly how many steps we will take on our trek.  These 10 steps will teach you how to start an exercise program and more importantly how to stay committed to doing your exercise program and finally how to make exercising a life long habit.  Our immediate goal is to help each other prepare for the trek, our ultimate goal is to help each other make exercise part of our daily lives for the rest of our lives.

We would like you to be part of our TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More.    Now as a team member you  have an obligation,  you have to show up.   We encourage everyone who is part of our team to contribute.  Please make comments and suggestions that will motivate and inspire others.  You will be accountable to your teammates and trainers.  We are counting on you to help us all achieve more.

Our resposibility as your trainers is to help you get ready for the trek.  We will not be designing personalized exercise plans but we will be giving the 10 steps to follow.  We will be here to give tips and basic information so you can safely get in shape.  We will  try to answer any questions or concerns you may have.  Now let's take the first step!
